I need help citing sources in APA 7th edition format.
Answer
APA (American Psychological Association) format is commonly used in nursing, the social sciences. and some of the sciences. APA style uses brief in-text citations in the text that refer to an alphabetical list of references that appear at the end of the work.
The current edition is APA 7th. The library has copies of the current Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
The library catalog and databases (such as Academic Search Ultimate or CINAHL) typically include citation tools to help with APA style (as well as other citation styles). Go to the "Cite" or "Citation" links in the Tools Menu in our databases, or use the "Citation" link in our catalog, and you can copy and paste works cited information to use as a starting point.
However, as a best practice, always double-check citations generated by computer. There may be small errors that need to be corrected (for example, you may need to correct an article title in which every word is capitalized).
For more APA citation help, see the library's Citation Help: APA page or Ask a Librarian.
