How do I use the citation tools in the library databases to help create citations?

Answer

Using Citation Tools

The TC3 Library databases come with built in citation tools. Every source, whether it is an article, book, or video, will have a pre-generated citation that you can use for your work.

What to Watch for When Using Citation Tools:

  1. Make sure you have the right format: our citation tools produce citations in MLA, APA, Chicago, and several other citation styles. Be certain you have the right style. Check your assignment sheet to see which style your professor prefers.
  2. Double check the citation to make sure it is correct: occasionally citation tools will make errors. Double check each citation against the citation guides from the TC3 Writing Center, which you can access below.
