How do I put my citations in hanging indentation format?

In both MLA and APA citation styles, you are required to put your citations in hanging indentation format. This comes at the end of the paper on the Works Cited page (MLA) or References list (APA).

**Note: MLA and APA also require citations to be in alphabetical order. Alphabetize by the first letter that appears in each citation.**

Hanging indentation is like the opposite of normal paragraph indentation--the first line is flush all the way to the left side of the page, while each subsequent line is indented. It looks like this:
