Does the library have books or other resources to help prepare for the NCLEX-RN exam?

Answer

The library offers access to helpful NCLEX-RN exam preparation tools, including online and print resources. BoardVitals (online and mobile app) is a recommended starting point, which nursing students can access and use for free through the library's subscription.

BoardVitals via STAT!Ref

The library subscribes to STAT!Ref, a collection of full text online nursing textbooks.   BoardVitals, an interactive NCLEX-RN exam prep question bank, is included in our STAT!Ref package and is available free to nursing students.  BoardVitals is used for extra credit for the nursing program.

For more information about how to register for and authenticate your account, as well as how to access and use BoardVitals, please see the BoardVitals links in this FAQ or visit the library’s BoardVitals guide: tc3.libguides.com/nursing/boardvitals.

Other online resources

Peterson’s Test and Career Prep is a database available to TC3 (and all New Yorkers). It includes help with career exploration, cover letters, resumes, scholarship opportunities, and practice tests, including NCLEX-RN practice tests.   You can find this database at its direct URL (https://tc3.libguides.com/petersons) or by choosing Careers & Test Prep (https://tc3.libguides.com/az/databases?s=242348) from the subject listing on the Articles tab on the library’s website.

To supplement BoardVitals, the library has some suggestions for free online resources for NCLEX-RN preparation.  These resources are listed on the library’s NCLEX guide:  tc3.libguides.com/nclex.

Books in the TC3 Library

The library also has selected print NCLEX books that you can check out. A sample list of the library’s NCLEX books is available on the library’s NCLEX guide at tc3.libguides.com/nclex/. If you’re interested in a book not owned by our library, we will try to borrow it for you from another library (though please note that test preparation books can sometimes be hard to borrow).
