How do I find a specific movie or video? What do I do if our library doesn't own it?

Answer

Finding Videos

Use the Videos tab under Quick Search.  Enter the title and click Find.

DVDs

In this case, we own the video.  You will see that it's Available on DVD in our library.

Streaming Videos

We also have streaming videos.  Click Available Online.

Placing Requests

If we do not own it, we can try to borrow the movie from another library for you to use, at no extra charge to you.  You may need to allow a week or more for the DVD to arrive.

Start in the Videos tab to type in the movie title and click Find.

Then, in the drop-down menu near the top of the screen, choose SUNY Libraries and search again.

If you still do not see your movie in the list, go back to the drop-down and choose WorldCat and search again.

When you see your movie listed, click Check for available services.

On the next screen, under How to get it, click Sign in.

Enter the same username and password you use to log into myTC3 and your web courses and click LOGIN.

Click Request Item.

Then click Send request.

You will get an email to your TC3 account when the DVD has arrived.

If we are unable to get the DVD, we will also email you at your TC3 address.
