I want to assign my students to watch a movie outside of class. What do I need to do?
Answer
Use the Videos Search to find our DVDs and streaming videos.
Streaming Videos
If we already have a streaming version of a video, you can share a permalink to it with your students, whether by email or embedded in your web course.
If you're not sure whether or not 1) we already have it or 2) which link to use or 3) to ask if we can get a copy of a certain video, please Ask a Librarian.
DVDs
Students can borrow our DVDs to watch on computers in the library or take home with them. If everyone has to watch the same movies, please let us know so we can put them on Reserve.
If you are assigning the same movies to multiple students, the library can make a streaming version of a DVD that you could then share through your web course. To remain compliant with copyright, these streaming files can be available for no more than four weeks. Use the Faculty Media Request Form to tell us what you need and when and for what course.
