I need to cite two or more works by the same author(s). How do I do that for both in-text citations and the reference list using APA 7th edition?
Answer
At times you may need to cite two or more sources by the same author. This may happen for various reasons, including two or more works by a sole author or the first author in a group (either individually, or in a group of authors with the same first author and additional authors in the same or different order), and sometimes even in the same year. This FAQ provides information related to both in-text citations and reference page entries.
Purdue OWL is a reputable sources with relevant information and examples for citing two or more works by the same author:
- The Purdue OWL page In-Text Citations: Author/Authors provides guidance and examples for in-text citations in the section "Two or more works by the same author in the same year."
- The Purdue OWL page Reference List: Author/Authors provides guidance and examples for the reference page in the sections "Two or more works by the same author" and "Two or more works by the same author in the same year."
