Personal interviews are used frequently in research. When you interview your subject, make sure you record the interview so you can quote the interview accurately.
The format for citing a personal interview in MLA is as follows:
Smith, Jane. Personal interview. 19 May 2014.
The name of the person being interviewed comes first. Then note that it is a personal interview (meaning you conducted the interview) and the date.
