How do I cite a YouTube video in MLA format?

Answer

Follow this format:

Author. "Title of Video." YouTube, uploaded by username, Day Month Year, URL.

  • Only list author (the video creator) if it is different from the username who uploaded the video
    • If author and username are the same, begin with the video title.
  • Click the 'Share' button on YouTube player to find the URL.

For example:

Oda, Stuart. "Are Indoor Vertical Farms the Future of Agriculture?" YouTube, uploaded by TED, 7 Feb 2020, https://youtu.be/z9jXW9r1xr8.
