MLA citation style for a Works Cited list
- Title (with each word capitalized, in italics, followed by a period)
- Director's name (type Directed by First name Last name, followed by a comma)
- Version (if it applies, like Director's Cut, followed by a comma)
- Studio or distributor or network (capitalized and followed by a comma)
- Year of release (four digits, followed by a period)
Example: Blade Runner. Directed by Ridley Scott, Final Cut, Warner Home Video, 2010.
APA citation style for a References list
- Director's name (Last name, capitalized, followed by a comma and then the initial[s], capitalized and followed by a period)
- Name of that person's role in making the movie (Capitalized, enclosed in parentheses followed by a period)
- Year of release (Four digits, enclosed in parentheses followed by a period)
- Movie title (Italicized, capitalized as if it were a sentence)
- Type of publication (in regular font, capitalized, enclosed in square brackets, followed by a period) If applicable, include the version inside the square brackets. Follow the publication type with a semi-colon and then name the version with sentence capitalization)
- Name of production company (capitalized, followed by a period)
Example: Scott, R. (Director). (2010). Blade runner [Film; Final cut]. Warner Home Video.
