Library FAQs

The library has a variety of dictionaries. There's a dictionary stand near the Writing Center if you need to quickly use a dictionary without checking it out. If you're looking for general dictionaries you can borrow, you'll find a variety of them in the PE section of the book stacks. We have the Oxford English Dictionary there as well, if you're looking for that to complete an assignment. We also have some specialized dictionaries shelved with various subject areas. Please ask for help if you are having trouble finding what you need. 

If you are looking for a free online dictionary, many use either Merriam-Webster or Dictionary.com. For those in health fields, we do offer online access to Stedman's Medical Dictionary.and Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary.
