There's a book (or DVD) I think the library should own. Who should I tell?

Answer

Sounds great!  Tell us more.  You could:

  • Simply let us know.  Contact Us in any way you prefer.
  • Use a form. Signing in is required so we can respond to your request.  Provide as many details about what you want as you can.
  • Make your suggestion through OneSearch, like this:

1. Go to Books: Quick Search (or, for a DVD, Videos: Quick Search) and look up the title you are interested in and then click Find.

2. Since we don't already own it, you will get the Oops! No records were found message.

3. Use the drop-down list at the right of your search box and change it to SUNY Libraries or, if you still don't find it there, to WorldCat.  Then click the magnifying glass.

4. When you have found the right title, click Check for available services and sign in.

5. Then you will see a "Purchase Request" link.  Click that, and then scroll to the bottom of the request form and click SEND REQUEST. We'll contact you at your TC3 email address if we have any questions or when we have gotten what you want.  We can't buy everything, and not everything is available.  We mostly buy what is needed for our classes, but we will do our best.

Instead of clicking Purchase Request you could click Request Item after you've signed in, and then we'd try to get the book from another library for you to borrow instead of trying to buy a copy for us to own.
