Do I have to pay for articles?

Answer

No, you don't.  If you’re asked to pay for an online article: DON'T! It's highly likely that the Library can get the article for you, either immediately or in a day or two.

One way to check if we can get a particular article is to use the Articles tab under Quick Search on the Library's home page.

Type in the title of the article, change the search field to Title and then click Find.

If we have the full text immediately available, you will see the title on your list and a link under it that might say one of these:  Available Online or Download PDF or Read Article.  Click on that link to get to the full article.

Sometimes the full text is not available immediately.  If the article you need is not on your result list, or if you get a No records were found message, use the slider next to Search More Libraries under the Tweak your results heading on the left of the screen.

Now we can see the reference to the article we want.  Click where it says No Online Access.

Under How to get it, click Sign in and use your myTC3 name and password as directed.

After you've signed in, under How to get it you will now have a new option.  Click Request Item.

A form will come up.  Click on Send Request.

We will find another library that has the article and ask them to send us an electronic copy that we will then share with you, at no cost.

An email will be sent to your TC3 account when the article is available.

If you've tried these steps and still don't find the article you are looking for, please ask us and we're happy to help.
