Are there tools to help faculty detect plagiarism?
Answer
A variety of tools are available to help you detect plagiarism. Turnitin is integrated into Brightspace for use by faculty and students. For more information about Brightspace (including integration with Turnitin), contact Technology Support or Breton Bienvenue. Other tools (such as Grammarly) may be freely available online, though many require you to purchase a subscription for full functionality.
You can also ask a librarian to check an electronic copy of a student's paper in Turnitin for you.
For more information about academic integrity and plagiarism, please visit the library's faculty guide or student guide about plagiarism and academic integrity.
